Applications
Concrete repair can involve restoring damaged surfaces, rebuilding local defects or filling specified gaps with a suitable repair mortar or grout. Preparation depends on the cause and extent of deterioration, the condition of the remaining concrete and any exposed reinforcement. Cosmetic surface repairs and work affecting structural capacity require different assessments. Strengthening must follow an engineer’s evaluation and an appropriate design. A repair material alone does not resolve ongoing movement, water entry or the cause of reinforcement corrosion.
What we assess
Record the location, extent and depth of damage, visible cracks, moisture and any exposed steel before selecting materials. Establish whether the work is structural and obtain an engineer’s assessment where needed, particularly for strengthening. Match the repair product to the substrate, application orientation and subsequent protective layers. Check preparation, reinforcement treatment, placement and curing requirements in the technical documentation. Photographs help with an initial discussion, but they may not replace inspection or investigation of hidden damage.
